Hello Friends! I’m Emily, the new Blog Editor, here at Lizzy James!
I’m so excited to start this new adventure. I would like to first start by thanking you for taking the time out of your day to visit the Lizzy James Blog!
Let Me Introduce Myself…
I was born and raised in the bright California sunshine. San Diego was my childhood stomping grounds. I grew up in a rural community. Everyone had farm animals and a big piece of land. I know what you are thinking, and yes, there are actually places like this in San Diego! I think this is why I have always been drawn to nature and the outdoors.
While some kids were playing indoors with their toys or watching TV, I spent my time helping take care of livestock, swimming in creeks, and building stick forts with the neighborhood kids. Oh, and getting horrible poison oak! Which I do not recommend! Not what the average child might experience this day and age.
Adults Suck, and Then You Become One…
Ah, that wonderful, yet awkward transition of becoming an adult. I try to resist by only referring to my moments of responsibility as “Adulting”, in hopes of cheating the system.
In 2015, I started a job that for the first time made me feel free, and not like a trapped adult just trying to pay bills. I had just started a position at Lizzy James as a Jewelry Artisan. If you haven’t seen the video already, check out the video below for a glimpse into the Lizzy James vibe! Look for me about 2 minutes in!
It is so astonishing how much Lizzy James has grown over the last couple years! From a small studio at Lizzy’s own home, to three massive studios in an elegant business plaza and still growing!
In October 2016, I married my best friend in the middle of Redwood Forest in Northern California.
We both love to camp, hike and just spend time outdoors. He even proposed to me on our Yosemite camping trip a few years ago. I had no idea!
My husband, Joe, accepted a job offer at the end of 2016. The new job was 800 miles north of San Diego, right in the redwoods. A dream come true!
From some of the most beautiful destination beaches like La Jolla and Pacific Beach, I found myself being called to the wild and remote beaches of Northern California.
I may have had to leave the warm weather behind, but I was so blessed to not have to leave my dream job behind! I was going to stay part of the Lizzy James family!
That’s A Wrap!
